What is neurofeedback?

Neurofeedback is a non-invasive brain training technique that helps regulate and optimise brain activity. It uses real-time feedback to teach the brain to self-correct patterns associated with stress, anxiety, ADHD, sleep issues, and more.

What can neurofeedback help with?

Neurofeedback may support individuals dealing with ADHD, anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma, sleep issues/insomnia, migraines, chronic pain, ASD symptoms, stress/burnout, cognitive complaints, brain fog.

Is neurofeedback safe?

Yes. Neurofeedback is non-invasive and drug-free. It doesn't introduce anything into your brain, it simply helps guide your brain toward more optimal activity patterns. Most people experience no negative side effects, although some may feel tired or alert after sessions.

How many sessions?

Evidence-based neurofeedback literature suggests around 20-40 sessions is optimal for most people. Since we offer primarily remote training, every client receives 40 sessions in a full course of neurofeedback, with follow-up qEEG mappings.

Do I need a referral?

No referral is necessary. You can book directly with us. However, we're happy to work in collaboration with your GP, psychologist, or other healthcare providers if needed.

I don't have a diagnosis

No formal diagnosis is required to begin neurofeedback at Headquarters. We are not a diagnostic clinic, and we do not provide medical or psychological diagnoses. However, many clients come to us with concerns such as inattention, anxiety, poor sleep, or mood regulation – whether or not they have a label like ADHD. As part of your intake process, we conduct a quantitative EEG (qEEG) brain map, which helps us identify patterns of brain activity that may be associated with the symptoms you're experiencing. This data-driven approach allows us to create a personalised training protocol based on how your brain is functioning, not just your diagnosis or lack of one.

How do you make sure neurofeedback is safe and not ‘messing with my brain’?

We start with a qEEG brain analysis to design a protocol tailored specifically to your brain’s activity. Our approach follows the latest evidence-based, science-backed best practices. Plus, our team of neuroscientists provides ongoing support throughout your neurofeedback.

Can I claim through Medicare or private health insurance?

Neurofeedback is currently not covered by Medicare or private health insurance at this stage. At Headquarters, we keep our prices competitive, most clinics charge $5,000+ for a standard course.

Can I do neurofeedback training at home?

Yes! We use professional-grade remote neurofeedback equipment that connects easily to your phone or tablet. This lets you complete your training sessions conveniently from home, with expert guidance and support from our team.
